Wait. What? Jingyi was very much confused.Was he flirting!?

His eyes went to the water and back at the young man. "Sure..." He looked at the glass. "This isn't pure Vodka is it, because I wouldn't be surprised." Jingyi had a feeling that he might already be drunk.

His face looked familiar, "Hey, I think I've spoken to you on your journal..Ah, the one with the owl!"

Zizhen tilted his head, confused, "Vodka? No, I didn't even know they were serving vodka, I just saw you looked a little stifled with heat and got you some water to cool off!"

He smiled and nodded though, "Ah, yeah! I didn't bring Lil B though, I don't think they'd appreciate the sudden influx of people."

Well wasn't that nice of him? Jingyi grinned, "Yeah, it's kinda hot in this thing but I think I'll survive." He thanked him and pressed the glass to his lips, letting the cool liquid invade his mouth.

He managed to swallow before coughing and barking out a laugh, "I don't think owls are made to hang out at strip clubs. "

"Oh?" He blinked and took another look around the room, squinting at the pole, "You know that makes so much sense, I was wondering why a few people were barely clothed."

Zizhen chuckled sheepishly, rubbing his neck, "This is the first time I've ever been to a strip club, we don't really have them in the countryside."

Wait? Was this for real? Did Ouyang Zizhen not a clue? He laughed once more, " I know it's summer but they're definitely not dressed like that because they're just hot."

Jingyi put his glass down and waved him off, "Hey, I've lived in the big ol' city and this is my first time in a place like this."

Zizhen hummed, smiling into his glass, "So far this place has been great, since you've been living here longer than I have, do you have any nice spots? I've heard about a cafe and a teashop but I don't really know where they are."

Jingyi blinked once, thinking for a moment. "Oh, my cousin has a flower and tea shop and his friend runs a cat cafe." He grinned, "Both have cats so you should definitely visit."

Zizhen nodded, placing down his empty glass of water, "I'll keep that in mind for later! Do you wanna go to the bar for some more drinks?"

That didn't sound like a bad idea. It was a good thing that they had their own personal bar in the room, "Sure, do you drink anything in particular? I'll probably just get a beer."

Considering is tolerance was non existent a beer was pretty much the only thing he could take.

Zizhen grinned and went over to the bar with his glass, "Maybe some gin if there's any! Some beer would be nice though, I haven't drunk any since I got here."

Ever since Zizhen hit the fields to help, he'd been introduced to alcohol as a beverage instead and while he wasn't an alcoholic like the other farmers, he would never turn down a chance for some liquid courage.

JIngyi chuckled and eye'd Xizhen, "Do you guys drink alot in the countryside?"

He looked at the bar, "I'll take a beer. I can't really drink so I want to stay sorta sober."

"Mm, when there's a birthday, a good harvest, some happy news, we tend to make a lot of excuses for some but I, myself, have never really drank much." Zizhen smiled at Jingyi, before waving the bartender.

"Two beers then, please!" He purred when the glass slid into his hands and took a swig, sighing in content.

He hummed, "Lucky, all our family gatherings are pretty boring, no one really drinks." Ouyang Zizhen seemed pretty lively, "It's never a bad time to celebrate."

He took a bottle and lifted it up and with a grin said, "Cheers to making new friends."

Zizhen laughed and clinked the bottle with his own, "I'll cheer to that! You're a really great guy, Jingyi."

He took another sip and hummed merrily, "This is some good booze."

Jingyi chuckled and took a sip , "Eh, I'm not half bad."


"Are you planning on studying here? Ouyang Zizhen seemed to be around his age so it wouldn't be surprising if he was.

Zizhen laughed nervously, "Ahaha, no, I don't think I'd be able to afford it. I just got here with a friend's help and I'd rather not burden them with more stuff."

"I'm planning to take online courses so I won't be too uneducated though." He smiled, sipping on his drink.

Jingyi frowned, "Maybe some day you can, you shouldn't give up." He seemed like the type to really enjoy the university life.

"There's plenty of smart people that don't take courses." He answered, "It's cool that you do..I'm studying graphic design. It's not half bad. Some of my classes are online as well." It wasn't as demanding as studying to be a doctor but it had its challenges.

"Mhm! For now though, I'm settling in my job at the library and improving my hacking skills." Zizhen snickered, carefully plucking a flower from his hair, twirling the soft blooming thin in his fingers.

"Well, not really hacking, I'm just making games as practice for coding."

Jingyi had blinked twice when he heard hacking. That had sounded super cool.

"I don't know how to make games but I play plenty." He grinned. "I'm not half nad at most."

He laughed quietly into his drink, eyes twinkling mischievously, "I tend to suck at most games, mostly the PvP ones but making them is real fun, I'm currently working on this open world platform meant for multiple people, maybe you can be one of the beta testers when I get the basic things put in."

Jingyi thought over his bottle of beer, should he say that he was pretty much a professional player? "I compete, still not in the big leagues but working on it."

He took another sip of his beer, "If you do I'll definitely beta. Props for even being able to do that." Jingyi would rather die than work on lines of code.

Zizhen grinned brightly, pink dusting his cheeks as the light made his faint freckles more visible, "Well, we gotta start somewhere don't we?"

"It's fun making games, the coding is a bit therapeutic actually. I'll make sure to send you a copy of it when the main frame is done, it's going to be like a xianxia/wuxia thing." He hummed, getting another bottle when he realized he'd finished the first one.

"Hey, If I can make it, so can you."

Jingyi hadn't sipped more than half of his bottle but he could already feel it starting to take hold. That fuzzy sensation. He was cursed with getting drunk fast.

"I could stream it sometime, to show people and hype it up." He enjoyed streaming indie games when he could, though some of them mainly because how bad but enjoyable they were.

Zizhen blinked, feeling the telltale fuzz creeping over, he was getting a bit tipsy, the brew must be stronger than the ones back home.

"That'd be great, there's a feature where you can go on night hunts in teams to share EXP and Loot so it'll help people know about it when it gets released." Zizhen purred as he chugged down his drink.

He nodded in agreement, "That sounds-" Jingyi paused and looked over to the other side of the room. Was that..Xichen-ge..and a dick cupcake..and making ou-. NOPE. Jingyi grabbed his talking partner by the shoulders and moved him so that they both didn't have to look. It wasn't that he wasn't against his cousin..doing things. It was just WEIRD. Seeing it live in his face.

"Sorry about that, just trying to spare you my cousin getting reall...acquainted with someone.
